Journeyman Mechanic (Diesel, Automotive, & Trailer)

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on semi-trucks, trailers, and passenger vehicles
• Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical systems
• Service and repair trailer components including air brake systems, suspension, lighting, ABS systems, doors, liftgates, and structural components
• Conduct preventive maintenance services and DOT inspections on trucks and trailers
• Perform diesel engine diagnostics and repairs
• Use diagnostic tools, software, and technical manuals to identify and resolve issues
• Accurately enter repair notes, inspections, and work orders into the shop management system
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and team members regarding repair needs and timelines

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE

• Journeyman certification (or equivalent hands-on experience)
• 3+ years of experience working on semi-trucks, trailers, and/or diesel engines preferred
• Strong knowledge of heavy-duty and light-duty vehicle systems
• Experience with air brake systems and trailer repair preferred
• Basic computer skills required (ability to use diagnostic software, email, and digital work order systems)
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
