WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Advise on provisions to minimize safety risks
  • Conduct new hire safety training
  • Conduct accident investigations
  • File safety, DOT, MSHA, OSHA records
  • Review/update safety programs
  • Monitor compliance and identify safety issues
  • Make site visits to industrial locations, conduct audits and safety meetings
  • Create Job Hazard Analysis for high risk tasks
  • Ensure OSHA, MSHA, DOT compliance
  • Manage online safety risk management subscriptions
  • Manage online SDS systems
  • Injury case management
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Formal safety education/training
  • 5-7 years of experience as a safety official
  • 5-7 years DOT, MSHA, DOT Experience
  • Safety experience in an industrial setting such as mills, railyards, etc.
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Proficiency in computers
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Sporadic out of state travel
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record
  • Positive attitude
  • Highly motivated
  • Collaborative spirit
